BeanBag There is a easier sollution. Get a discounted price on replacement setup and installation discs: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10. Keyboard works fine in Safe Mode. The PC whirrs, meaning it is doing something but it isn't starting up.

July 14, 2011 Brian Ok, so my computer won't boot into vista, it gives me an error code 17. In this way, you'll not need to press "F8" key. Obviously I can't enter safe mode because of undoing updates and f8 doesn't work. So useful article.
