Try running the index rebuilding process overnight. Computers are supposed to be a convenience, not a daily war. Not only, at a minimum am I going back to XP and Outlook 2003. I am seriously considering going My issue has been with the "search contacts" , whereas this functionality just stopped working - I used it yesterday. If it works and never breaks good for you.. This may solve the issue of Windows 10 search not working. Under Sources, click Indexing Options. Waited logged back in and then selected only Outlook 2016. No joy.

I am also using Outlook 2007 and waited a long time for it to index all items. So I'm happy that it's working properly now, but clearly something fudgey was going on there... On to my next problem... In this scenario, you cannot index e-mail messages or search e-mail messages because the SearchProtocolHost.exe process cannot open the same handle to the personal folders (.pst) file that Outlook 2007 uses.
