I don't have ANY notifications, and the damned task bar still won't go away. embee i once permanently autohid my taskbar in the registry and now cant find my saved copy of the regedit file to reverse that former change. I use autohide feature but as you know it doesn't hide itself always and stuck visible. I tried to put up with it, having searched for a solution/fix without success. You can usually fix the problem by restarting the problem application, or clicking on the icon to trigger whatever the hidden notification was. Post back as to whether that works. It is annoying to reply on a tool for basic functionality like this, but it is better then it being broken. Taskbar just *loves* popping out of autohide and staying unhidden for the most asinine reasons.
I am unable to directly reproduce this behavior so far. With the auto-hide up, no lower bar so I just end up going to a bar. It's not really the taskbar NOT auto-hiding. Edit: I normally use the "Classic" Windows style, with all animations disabled.
I PUT A SHORTCUT ON MY DESKTOP FOR IT, AND SIMPLY CLICK ON IT EVERY TIME TASKBAR FREEZES. Usually I can just right-click the taskbar, click (or un-click) auto-hide, and Apply, then OK, then do it again, and the problem disappears.
