This includes Windows, macOS (Mac OS X), Linux, Apple iOS, Google Android and so on. I wasn't using Outlook portion of Office 2013 becaus eit was overkill for my needs and used a lot more resources as a result.

The port eM Client wants to use will not allow any outgoing mail from it.  Googles GMail works just fine - not issues.  Hope this info helps someone down the line...
