A technician at Microsoft suggested getting the software from here. In addition my computer boot-up and program opening have speed-ed up dramatically. I've tried & tried a bunch of things to get passed this, but no matter what, I get the same error message & cannot install updates. Again.

I HOPE this IS fixed, but in the words of Monty Python, "I'll say no more... Thanks for some more solid input! My computer had slowed to a crawl. I wiped out my BITS Service completely.
