Once you connect your camera/memory card to your computer the Windows XP Camera Wizard window should come up. As soon as I removed the RealPlayer program my picture wizard worked right away. A 5 year old solution that's still useful 5 years later - very rare on the internet. If you can see the camera icon can you double click on it?

Have you tried this? I am not computer literate and don't know where to find the registry. What I find strange is that, if I go to Control Panel >> Scanners and Cameras, the camera appears here when I connect it - yet it does not appear in All of the links assume that the camera shows up in My Computer as an external device, and that the problem is simply that Autoplay doesn't start.
Please try again now or at a later time. I suspect it may have been trashed by the latest round of XP updates or the WIA software. Another way to tell if you have connected the camera to the computer is to go to my computer and verify that there is a camera icon there. I spent hours searching untill I found this trick.

I finally got fed up of manually downloading and deleting my pictures. Every time I open a picture and try to print it, I have to go through the photo wizard steps.
