I am using 6.1.6 on an old 3gs iPhone. SMPT Server Turn Server OFF Click Done and back out This seem to solve all the issues of emails hanging as "sending", non refreshing feeds, and constant errors while trying to Send the email and see if it arrives within 5 minutes. useful reference

Mail accounts are the only type of accounts currently accessible by the iPhone that offer push services. The other weird thing is that when I go to iCloud.com and go to my email, the badge is always a larger number than my phone. This, in theory, means that you will be instantly notified when a new message lands in your Yahoo! I have tried deleting the account and adding it again, toggling the push option in settings on and off, and manually setting up the mail account.
